| Rights Initiatives of Dalit and Adivasi Youth (HRIDAY):-
The HRIDAYA was initiated by VICALP in the year 2007 with a view to ensure the participation of Dalit and Adivasi youth in the campaign for protection and promotion of Human Rights particularly in the context of gross human rights violence of Dalit and Adivasi people in South Orissa. In the beginning experienced and well-trained Human Rights Defenders (DHRD) from VICALP conducted field based orientations and trainings involving local male and female youth and motivating them to voluntarily act as social watch monitors. As cases of human rights violence were reported, the DHRDs from VICALP started assisting the victims right from fact finding to legal justice administration in the courts. |

HRIDAY’s focus is not only assisting the victims in getting justice and compensation, but going beyond this, it organizes commuity level awareness education classes and facilitate community responses. HRIDAY, as a youth movement for Human rights is growing as more and more young men and women from the communities are participating in it. |
