Integrated Community Development Program - HELP, Canada (1997-on-going) First initiated in 1997 some 30 villages, VICALP and HELP, Canada began a partnership that has grown over the course of a decade to include 119 villages and a wider and growing zone of people’s cooperation/organization. The partnership has addressed:

grain banks: maintenance of minimum/floor levels for people’s grain banks (Adivasi support mechanism for lean agricultural periods/drought periods) in each village,
vegetable gardens: development of community and family backyard/community vegetable plots.
fruit orchards: development of community fruit orchards on hilly land.
grain/millet cultivation.
PDS outlets: “village/community-controlled” Public Distribution Supply outlet for basic necessities provided at subsidized rates by the state (including rice, kerosene oil and sugar) to ensure regular supply at fair prices for communities.

Homestead land: providing organized support for claims to hutment area land and securing “pattas” (title) for same.
Landless family claims: providing legal and organized support for claims to cultivable land.
Anawadi land (unused land) claims/re-classification: developing this land area through grain and fruit orchard cultivation with the view to secure community title over same (e.g. have the land re-classified as “community land”).
